I just bought the new Sharon Jones CD. Well, really I downloaded it from iTunes. But I was intrigued by the samples enough to purchase the entire album instead of just a few songs. I saw The Dap Tones perform with Amy Winehouse this summer and they were great. Mark Ronson used them alot bringing brassy R&B back in style. Sharon Jones is their original frontwoman and she has a hell of a voice. Any song from their new album mixes it up on my iTunes playlists.
This is a video for their song 100 Days, 100 Nights. It looks like it was filmed in the 60s but it was definitely made this year. They are very dedicated to the authentic R&B thing.

Damages
I fell in love with Damages this year. I am so glad I was surfing TV that one night and saw the commercial for it on FX. It was such a delicious series. It was full of mystery and suspense but it was fulfilling each week. Of course the season finale still left us with tons of questions! I thought it was a one-time tv thing, especially since Glenn Close stars in it. They better do a season two!!!

I Heart Peter Petrelli

Somehow I missed Heroes last year. I happened to have the tv on one Saturday night waiting for Torchwood to come on when NBC re-aired the Season 2 premier of Heroes . . . I was hooked!
I purchased the entire first season from iTunes and simultaneously recorded all new episodes from season 2. I finally finished season 1 and I LOVED IT!!!! Peter Petrelli got so powerful and was way cool. All the fighting at the season finale was awesome. Such a good show . . . Can't wait to see what happens to Peter Petrelli in Season 2.
Below is an awesome video of Peter's continuous fight with Sylar through Season 1. The music is Knights of Cydonia by Muse and is just PERFECT!
